“I do have reasons for hope: our clever brains,
the resilience of nature, the indomitable human spirit, and above all, the commitment of young people when they’re empowered to take action."

Jane Goodall

PODCAST

Podcast

SAVING PLANET A is a podcast for families on sustainability, climate change, the circular economy and jobs that help save the planet.

In every episode we chat to a planet saver: experts with environmental careers, activists or simply people who put sustainability at the heart of what they do.

We talk about how they got here and what inspires them to keep going. Our aim is to inform and empower young people who want to pursue environmental-related degrees or careers that are connected to even just being a small part of a solution.

CLIMATE EDUCATION

LOGOTYPE_SANS_BASELINE.png

The climate Fresk is a 3-hour interactive, creative and collaborative workshop that teaches you about our changing climate system, with no prior knowledge required.

Based on reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a United Nations body, the workshop uses 42 cards to guide you through the IPCC science and give a systems perspective of the problem.

Participants leave with a deeper understanding of climate change and possible solutions and are empowered to take high impact action.

Since its design by climate educator Cédric Ringenbach in 2018, more than a million people worldwide have attended a Climate Fresk workshop. Climate Fresk is increasingly being adopted by public and private organizations globally to spur people to take environmental action.

Please get in touch about a workshop in your organisation.

ABOUT

Further to her environmental engineering undergraduate studies in Istanbul, Gizem moved to Amsterdam to gain experience in the world of business and also study for an MBA.

After several years of experience in a Fortune 500 engineering company, Gizem moved to London where she worked in FF&E sales and business development in the built environment.

In 2021, after a series of Mediterranean wildfires that caused great damage, she decided to leverage her sustainability skills and work towards being part of a solution for the environment.

She became a WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP), a health and well-being credential that denotes expertise in the WELL Building Standard. To her, wellness is the integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It's about living life fully as well as having respect for nature and all species living in it.

She created the podcast Saving Planet A with the aim of building a climate-conscious community. A mother herself, Gizem believes young people have the power to change the world and adults have the responsibility to support them and help create a better future with sustainable practices.

Gizem is also a Terra.do Fellow and Climate Fresk facilitator. Climate Fresk is a science-based interactive card game that teaches participants how climate change works and empowers them to take effective action as a citizen. She is also Volunteer Climate Officer at the Collective for Climate Action, a network of more than 1500 UK public sector workers and civil servants that aims to facilitate systemic action on the climate and biodiversity crises.
